This 5-day safari (7 days including arrival and departure)is specially designed for travelers wishing to witness one of nature’s most dramatic events — the Calving Season of the Great Wildebeest Migration, which takes place from January to March. During this period, over 8,000 baby wildebeest are born each day in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains, attracting large predator populations including lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and jackals.
Your journey also includes Tarangire National Park, known for its enormous elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, as well as the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, home to Africa’s densest concentration of wildlife. Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania (Kilimanjaro International Airport / Arusha Airport)
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by a Season Master Adventures representative. After luggage collection, transfer to your hotel in Arusha, where your safari guide will provide a detailed briefing covering the itinerary, wildlife expectations, safety tips, and useful safari advice. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel, enjoying the tropical surroundings, and preparing for your adventure.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu
- Distance: 140 km
After breakfast, depart your Arusha hotel at 07:00 hrs for Tarangire National Park, famous for its vast elephant population and immense baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive across rich savannah landscapes where zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, lions, leopards, and more than 500 bird species thrive.
A picnic lunch will be served inside the park before continuing your afternoon wildlife exploration. Later, proceed to Karatu, located on the lush Ngorongoro highlands, for a relaxing evening at your lodge.

Day 3: Karatu – Southern Serengeti (Ndutu Area)
- Distance: 210 km
After breakfast, depart for Ndutu — the heart of the Great Migration during the calving season. Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands, enjoying spectacular views before descending into the vast plains where over a million wildebeest gather.
Arrive in the Ndutu region in time for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game drive. This fertile area provides the perfect conditions for wildebeest mothers to give birth and for predators to thrive. Expect incredible sightings of newborn calves taking their first steps and predators closely monitoring the herds.
Return to your tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full Day in Southern Serengeti (Ndutu Area)
Spend the entire day exploring the Ndutu plains during the peak of the calving season.
Witness thousands of newborn wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles spread across the grasslands. This abundance of prey draws large predator numbers, offering unmatched opportunities to observe lion pride interactions, cheetah high-speed hunts, hyena clans, and even elusive leopards resting in acacia trees.
Your guide will navigate through the woodland, marshes, and open plains to maximize sightings and photographic moments. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Return to your camp for a relaxed evening and dinner.

Day 5: Ndutu – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- Distance: 90 km
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive around Ndutu before departing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Drive through diverse habitats and enjoy scenic stops along the way.
Arrive at your lodge situated on the crater highlands, offering stunning views and cool evening breezes. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, preparing for your next day’s descent into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
- Distance: 273 km
After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater — one of the most beautiful wildlife sanctuaries on Earth. The crater floor hosts an incredible density of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, flamingoes, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a full morning game drive with a picnic lunch by the famous hippo pool.
Afterward, drive back to Arusha for your final overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure & Optional Arusha Town Tour
